China National Inspection and Quarantine Institute on Publicly Soliciting Opinions on "Testing Methods for Free Formaldehyde in Cosmetics"

China's National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) proposed adding 5-[(E)-2-phenylethenyl]-2-(propan-2-yl)benzene-1, 3-diol (Benvitimod, Tapinarof) (CAS No. 79338-84-4) as a prohibited component for cosmetics. They also released six draft determination methods as following:
1. Determination of Free Formaldehyde in Cosmetics
2. Determination of Desloratadine and Other 51 Kinds of Components in Cosmetics
3. Determination of L-Ascorbic Acid 2-Phosphate Magnesium Ester and Other 11 Kinds of Components in Cosmetics
4. The Fixed-Dose Procedure for Acute Oral Toxicity Test
5. Acute Oral Toxicity Test: Up-and-Down Procedure
6. Acute Oral Toxicity – Acute Toxic Class Method
