Vietnam Revises Cosmetic Ingredient Requirements Regulations (January 30, 2023)

On January 30, 2023, the Vietnam Drug Administration issued Announcement No. 817/QLD-MP to revise regulations on cosmetic ingredient requirements to align with the ASEAN Cosmetics Agreement updated on January 19, 2023. The main contents of the revision include: (1) 44 substances such as Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane) are included in the list of prohibited ingredients in cosmetics; (2) Adding salicylic acid, titanium dioxide and other substances in cosmetics Conditions of Use. The announcement is effective from the date of publication, and the transition period is until November 21, 2024.
