Malaysia: Second edition of Guidelines for Control of Cosmetic Products in Malaysia to be effective from August 2022

On July 18, 2022, the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) of Malaysia published the Guidelines for Control of Cosmetic Products in Malaysia — Second Edition. The Guidelines will come into effect on August 1, 2022 and will replace the first edition promulgated back in 2017. With fully revised Annex I, detailing out the requirements for each of items controlled under the Guidelines, the major revisions in it include provisions on product benefit claims and the addition of new provisions on product recalls.
