EU: Safety of aluminium in cosmetic products - Submission III

The Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) believes that aluminium compounds are safe when used at the maximum amounts suggested in the tables for various goods when used in cosmetic products. Maximum use levels for components in cosmetics served as the foundation for the exposure evaluation. Only exposure from cosmetic uses was taken into consideration in this safety evaluation since aluminium is not categorized as a chemical that is carcinogenic, mutagenic, or hazardous to reproduction (CMR) 1A or B.
