TGA updates New Sunscreen Standard Requirements

The 2021 Sunscreen Standard will be incorporated into therapeutic goods legislation starting July 1, 2024. All new sunscreen products in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods must comply with the standard. Existing aerosols and spray pump packs will have a 1-year transition period to comply with the new labelling requirements. Existing sunscreen products with a 5-year transition period can still meet the testing requirements of the 2021 Sunscreen Standard or the previous standard.
