EU notifies WTO about proposed regulatory changes to labelling and composition requirements for four prominent cosmetic ingredients

The European Union has notified the WTO of its proposed amendments to Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 Annexes III (restricted substances) and VI (authorised UV filters). Four substances are of particular concern: BHT (used as antioxidant), Acid Yellow  (used as hair dye), Homosalate, and Bis-(Diethylaminohy d-Roxybenzoyl Benzoyl) Piperazine (HAA299; used as UV filter). A correction is also made to the Resorcinol usage warnings.
