The California governor signed two bills on Sept. 29, 2022, which will ban the manufacture, distribution and sale of textile articles and cosmetics products that contain PFAS beginning in 2025.
The legislation prohibits the production, distribution, and sale of cosmetic items that contain nine substances or groups of compounds, and it orders Ecology to investigate the risks of potential replacement ingredients.
Safer Products Restrictions and Reporting was submitted as a new rule by the Washington state Department of Ecology on December 7th, 2022.
