South Korea Announced the Changes to Cosmetics Safety Regulations

South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety revealed cosmetic safety regulations in the Notice no. 2023-572. The amendments, which are set to go into effect immediately after they are announced, are motivated by a desire to improve cosmetic safety management and protect public health. A significant change is the inclusion of 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene to the list of restricted cosmetic compounds, which strengthens cosmetic product safety safeguards. The public is encouraged to offer comment on the proposed modifications through WTO until December 11, 2023.
