Hungary Recalls Face Cream due to Prohibited Ingredient

On 19 Januray 2024, Hungary notified withdrawal of face cream (Hidratáló nappali arckrém normál és vegyes bőrre). The product contains 2-(4-tert- butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (BMHCA), which is prohibited in cosmetic products, according to the ingredient list. BMHCA has the potential to cause skin sensitization, damage the fetus's health, and impair reproductive health.The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation. Withdrawal of the product from the market, Date of entry into force was 03/08/2023.
