CTPA has introduced a new e-learning in its Online Learning Platform, 'Cosmetic Ingredients: How to Find Out the Legal Status'. Members of CTPA can receive the training for free; non-members can do so for a charge of 150 pounds plus VAT (with the exception of Module 4 on foreign laws).

This e-learning course's first module covers:

- How the EU and UK marketplaces and laws are distinct.
- CLP Regulation Principles and Standardized Categorization System
- The fundamentals of cosmetics Implementing adjustments to components through regulation and procedures
- REACH Regulation Principles and Risk Management Procedures for Substances

This module therefore provides an overview of the EU and UK legal frameworks for chemicals, impacting cosmetic ingredients in particular (the Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) Regulation, the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation, and the Cosmetics Regulation). The module also gives an understanding of the regulatory processes under these frameworks, in particular the regulatory steps for harmonised classification, REACH restrictions or authorisations, cosmetic ingredients classed as CMRs, new cosmetic ingredients in general, or those used as colorants, preservatives, or UV filters.
