China: Improved version of NMPA's Cosmetic Adverse Reactions Monitoring System launched

China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) launched its upgraded version of the National Cosmetic Adverse Reaction Monitoring System on October 01, 2022. As per new requirements in the improved version, cosmetics operators and medical institutions that are not currently in position to report an adverse effect online in the System shall report to the local city/county-level cosmetics adverse reaction monitoring institutions through paper reports, and they shall submit reports online on their behalf. Few more new requirements and directions are also specified for the new version. A Guide Manual clarifying the filling-in requirements for two types of adverse reaction reports, namely, individual cases of adverse reactions, and adverse reactions that may cause greater social impact, was also circulated.
