News Date
April 26, 2023

This is a standardized procedure for the Allergy Alert Test (AAT), which the Cosmetics Europe (CE) recommends incorporating into the use instructions that come with products whose principal function is to dye the hair and for which the AAT is indicated as an important risk management measure.

The document includes the standardized phrasing as well as the appropriate pictograms to make use of. Cosmetics Europe (CE) is the association for personal products in the European Union.

In a nutshell, the standardized technique involves combining modest amounts of the colorant and the developer in a separate container, applying the mixture to the inner forearm, and waiting for 45 minutes. After waiting for 45 minutes, the mixture is taken out. After forty-eight hours have passed, the dye for the hair can be applied if there has been no reaction.
