Study Design on the Presence of Metals in Moisturisers, and Compliance with Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, on Cosmetic Products

With an aim to explore the metal content in the most-consumed moisturising creams in Spain and to verify their degree of compliance with EU Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 regarding the presence of metals in cosmetics, the samples of moisturisers were analysed by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for metal assessment. Metals banned in cosmetics like beryllium, cadmium, mercury, lead, chromium, cobalt, etc. were found at very low concentrations
