Malaysia publishes guidelines for the regulation of cosmetics

On January 11, 2023, the National Drug Administration of Malaysia issued Announcement No. 1/2023, the "Guidelines for the Regulation of Cosmetics in Malaysia".
The main contents include:
(1) Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) (Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane; D4), sodium perborate (Sodium perborate), 2-(4-tert-butylphenyl) propionaldehyde (p-BMHCA) (2-( 4-tert-butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (pBMHCA)) etc. are included in the list of banned ingredients in cosmetics, and the transition period for existing products is until November 21, 2024;
(2) Update the conditions of use of substances such as preservatives salicylic acid (Salicylic acid) and ultraviolet filter titanium dioxide (Titanium dioxide).This announcement takes effect from the date of publication.
